Ying Wang, Ph.D. is a user experience and human factors researcher with expertise in the domains of automotive, appliance, and medical devices. Dr. Wang has received her Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Tsinghua University in 2009 and had held a position of Postdoctoral Research Associate in MIT’s Center for Transportation and Logistics – AgeLab (2009-2012) and a position of Associate Professor at the School of Transportation and the International Research Institute for Multidisciplinary Science at Beihang University (BUAA, 2013-2016). Her research seeks to build safety and well-being in surface transportation systems by understanding human behaviors in both physiological and psychological aspects. Currently, she is serving consulting works on a broad area, including in-vehicle HMI design, home appliance improvement, and medical device validation. She also owns insightful knowledge and extensive experience in eye-tracking and data analytics. Dr. Wang is a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Association (HFES) and also serves the International Traffic Medicine Association (ITMA) as an executive board member.
